The Nasty Quagga Mussel has come to California ... Crowley Lake Mandatory Boat Inspections
Can you say big nightmare on the horizon... this little creature could possibly shut Crowley Lake down to private boats this season.  At this point in time DWP will allows boats that have be pre inspected on the water only.  For an update on getting your boat inspected click here for a PDF update.   If you want to learn more about these creatures click here for the Wiki page.  LADWP is taking steps to stop the spread of the invasive mussel's read what they are doing right here.

Stocking 2008 & The New Zealand Mud Snail
So everyone wants to know what is up with Fish Stocking and the new Zealand Mud Snail we dealt with last season.  No change, the snail is still in the Hot Creek Fish Hatchery and to get it out the price tag is in the multi millions.  So Fish Springs is getting more funding and will be raising more fish for this 2008 fishing season.  Look for areas like the Owens River to only get a 10% overage of fish this year.  Looks like the bounty in that area from last season is over.  Hit it early for lot's of left over from last season!

Crowley 100% Ice Free and Ready
Yahoo No more ice and the lake is about ready to go... Check out The MC Gee Cam... that bay looks ready for some big hook ups to me. :)

Fishmas 2008

Many people call it Fishmas here in the Eastern Sierra.  That would be our opening day of fishing.  This season the crowds were just a bit down but the haul was great as it is just about every year.

 So I got an email from Nick with www.3dguideservices.com.  He said it was time to check out Crowley.  I thought, great lets get hooked up with fish and footage. Let's rock it Nick... The best part was hangin with Nick and hookin into my first fish from a fly rod.  :)  Bent Rods....

Twin Lakes Alpers Trout Stocking


 The word came in that Tim and Roy would be putting in about 600 lbs of Alpers trout into Twin Lakes Mammoth.   So our crew packed up and headed up to the Mammoth Lakes Basin.  As expected Tim and Roy showed up with the fish goods. They were here with lots of 6lbs trout.
